Aircraft Project Preparation

Project preparation

Preparing for a homebuilt aircraft project is an interesting exercise, especially so if it's your first homebuilt airplane project and if you happen to be relocating at the same time.
Fortunately, our new home has a

double garage, which was converted into a genuine workshop. With my workshop only a few steps away, it's always possible to fiddle with something for just a half an hour or so. "Travelling to a workshop" is something that I can eradicate from my dictionary; a great time and cost saver at that!
Unfortunately, our new found home needed quite a bit of renovation here and there. This side-tracked me for a at least a year or so. Only in November 2006 I could turn my attention to turning our double garage into a suitable workshop.

Project preparation quick links:

Workshop My workshop floorplan is shown to explain what I did to turn my double garage into a genuine workshop...

Storage Storing aviation grade building materials is a critical issue. Check out this page to see how I store plywood and timber...

Tools IBIS can be built with surprisingly few tools. This page shows some tools that may not be in everone's toolset...
